Trains are so cool.
July 29, 2005 on 4:55 pm | In Travelogue |And I get to enjoy 6 hours on this one to Prague. The Bavarian (”Bayerisch”) countryside is so pristinely bucolic — classic rolling green hills of wheat & barley, dotted with charming villages of tudor- styles and onion-domed churches. It’s a good thing too, because it’s the only thing making this billion-percent-humidity and 95 degrees tolerable. Barely. I don’t know if three years of Arizona has spoiled me this much, or if the humidity here really *is* worse, but I swear I don’t ever recall the humidity being this bad even in New Orleans (much less in Georgia). I feel like I’m in a jacuzzi, literally swimming.
We’re picking up passengers now at Regensburg. On the way in I could tell it was a lovely little place.
