A Bit of Obsession with Excession

I just finished reading Excession by Iain M. Banks. Excellent high concepts, rich, well-developed universe. Believably human, flawed characters (though not as deeply dimensional as they could be). Still, it was an enthralling mystery, left satisfyingly mysterious at the end, with a nice turn through an engaging civilization — the Culture.
I recommend it to all sci-fi fans, from light to heavyweight.
