Revised State FY09 Budget

Insane. More than half of Arizona’s $600M total state budget cuts are coming from the University system. I mean, who needs an educated workforce, right?
In case anyone failed to hear: when Arizona’s Democratic Governor Janet Napolitano went to DC to become DHS secretary, she was succeeded by a conservative Republican, Jan Brewer, because Arizona has no Lt Gov — the next in line is Secretary of State. Ironically, when this process worked in reverse (Republican Gov flipping to Democratic Sec of State) in 1994, the same Jan Brewer loudly complained to the press about how the voters had chosen the Republican party to govern for four years, and they deserved a continuation of those policies. She insisted the Arizona Constitution be amended to create a Lt. Governorship.
Shockingly, this hasn’t stopped Brewer from moving right on into the Guv’s mansion and taking the ax to everything Napolitano believed in. I just f*&king love hypocrites.
